IMR is a leading research institute and Centre of Research Excellence in Nutrition and Metabolism, which conducts fundamental and applied research in the field of biomedicine in Serbia and region of West Balkan countries. The Centre consists of food scientists, nutritional researchers, nutritionists, medical doctors, biologists, molecular biologists, chemists, pharmacists and biochemists, all of whom are active in basic and applied nutritional research. IMR is currently involved in several EC FP6/7 projects including BaSeFood, EURRECA, EuroFIR Nexus, and CHANCE, and other national research projects. It is responsible for regional activities of the Network for Capacity Development in Nutrition in Central and Eastern Europe www.agrowebcee.net/ncdn/.

Main roles in BACCHUS:

WP3: data evaluator for eBASIS.

WP5: evaluation of the biological roles of many food bioactives and extracts on platelet reactivity under in vitro and ex-vivo blood cell culture including RCT in metabolic syndrome patients.

WP6: organisation of an RCT.
