Its methodology is extensively accredited to the international Standard ISO17025 and is the UK’s designated National Measurement Institute for chemical and biochemical analysis, the National Reference Laboratory, and is also the host organisation for the UK’s Government Chemist function. HFL Sport Science is part LGC Health Sciences and is the one of the world’s premiere independent drug surveillance laboratories, with over 45 years continuous experience in the science of sports doping control providing unrivalled and internationally trusted expertise in all aspects of doping control for sports. In addition, HFL has extended forensic quality analytical testing into other areas of bioanalytical science such as nutritional biomarker measurement. HFL has participated in both small research and larger epidemiological studies such as the European Investigation of Cancer (EPIC) and the DietCompLyf study. HFL scientists have pioneered innovative bioanalytical techniques and published more than 300 scientific papers.

WP2: LGC will establish existing methods for polyphenols analysis and, with partners, participate in the inter-laboratory evaluation of the procyandin and ellagitannin assays.
